Mikey

Mikey is a Black Mouthed Cur who is looking for his forever home because his owner passed away.  He was transferred by a relay of volunteers who wanted to give him a chance at a new life. In the 3-day journey, he travelled with about 30 people and stole their hearts along the way. We think if you meet him, he will do the same to you. Mikey is house-trained and crate-trained and knows most of his basic commands. He has lived with both large and small dogs and gets along well with most dogs and with cats. He is very playful and is quite the clown when he wants to get your attention. He enjoys his playtime, but will relax when inside. We’re told his signal to let you know it’s time to go out and play is to bring you a Kleenex or a paper towel if he can find one. This breed requires regular exercise and room to run and play. He pulls some on a leash, but is not out of control. The BMC is also a social breed and needs to have human companionship and a daily routine.  Mikey is afraid of thunder, fireworks and the sound of the dishwasher, but doesn’t seem to be bothered by much else. Mikey weighs about 50 lbs. and his DOB is 6/15/12. The most common comments about Mikey during his journey to Nebraska were that he is a really FUN dog to be around. He loves people and the belly rubs they can give him and also going for car rides and walks. His ideal home would have a large fenced yard, older children to play with and a family who will include him in their daily activities.
